2nd Grade In-School Field Trip with Discovery Museum

Did you know every year, MESA spends more than $15,000 on in-school field trips. We raise this money through our fall fundraiser, spring fling and other fundraisers throughout the year! This week our 2nd graders enjoyed a visit from the Discovery Museum! They had a fun time learning about Changes in Physical Matter! It was so cool to see steam from boiling water and ice cubes melt before their eyes! But the best part was being able to play with dry ice (in a safe way) and seeing how liquid nitrogen can freeze a banana to make it hard enough to hammer a nail or to freeze a flower so that it shatters with one small touch! The students had amazing questions and such wonderful guesses!
